Position Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and customer-focused Counterhand to join our fresh food team, specializing in meat, fish, or pork. The ideal candidate will assist customers at the counter, maintain hygiene standards, and handle food preparation equipment in accordance with safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist customers by serving and providing product information.
• Ensure product displays are fully stocked, clean, and aligned with visual standards.
• Monitor product expiry dates and rotate stock accordingly.
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of the counter and work area at all times.
• Perform regular stock takes and report discrepancies.
• Operate machinery such as band saws, grinding machines, and slicers safely and hygienically.

Requirements:

• Experience in a similar role in a supermarket, deli, or fresh food environment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene protocols, and equipment handling.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
