Range Planning Manager
The Range Planning Manager will lead the critical path of the range review process and support the Category Managers and Buyers in delivering optimized, customer-centric product selections.
POSITION SUMMARY
Spinneys, the UAE’s leading premium food retailer, is seeking a highly analytical and customer-focused Range Planning Manager to join our Commercial team. This role will be responsible for managing the assortment strategy across our store clusters, ensuring ranges are aligned with shopper missions, store formats, and business objectives.
ORGANIZATIONAL FIT
This position reports directly to the Head of Merchandising and works closely with Category Managers, Regional Managers, Store Operations, and Data teams.

• 2 x Data Entry Clerks
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assortment Management:
Lead and deliver the range review process across assigned categories, ensuring assortment strategies are aligned with store formats, shopper missions, and customer needs.
• Range Optimization:
Manage and execute the Assortment Optimization process, including the creation and maintenance of customer and product choice trees and commercial hierarchies.
• Data Accuracy & Systems Support:
Collaborate with Category Managers and Data Entry teams to maintain accurate product attributes, ceiling targets, and store-specific assortments.
• New Product Integration:
Plan distribution of new products into the right store clusters, ensuring alignment with category plans and future seasonal needs.
• Cross-functional Collaboration:
Partner with Regional Managers to tailor assortments for new stores and modernizations, ensuring localized and relevant product offerings.
• Performance Tracking:
Monitor range performance, analyze feedback from stores, and recommend changes based on sales data and exception policies.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
Present range proposals and sign-offs to senior stakeholders in alignment with the category RACI process.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an FMCG or retail environment, preferably with exposure to assortment planning or range management.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for translating data into actionable insights.
• Proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines through organized planning and clear communication.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with analytical or merchandising systems.
• Detail-oriented, process-driven, and adaptable to change in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present to senior stakeholders confidently.
• A proactive listener and problem-solver, able to balance customer needs with business objectives
